Scout Sunday

February 4, 2018 was Scout Sunday at St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church

The service was led by the wonderful Rev. Brad Burke, Assistant to the Bishop for Youth, Young Adult and Spiritual Formation.

Over 100 people attended this service with $270 raised for ELCA World Hunger. The Scouts were active participants in the service, leading us in the scouts oath, lectionary readings, prayers and offering.

The boys, leaders and parents of Gilbertsville Boy Scout Troop #36, Cub Pack #36, and Venture Crew #2036 thank their sponsoring institution,

St. Luke Lutheran Church, for inviting us to attend this morning’s service as Scouting Units in the celebration of Scouting’s 105th birthday.

The Gilbertsville Boy Scout Troop celebrates 84 years of continued service since January, 1934, when it was chartered by the Gilbertsville Fire Company. The church acquired the sponsorship in January, 1939.

Our Cub Pack #36 was organized by our church in August, 1946. We are enjoying our 69th year.
